Key takeaways
- Tapcart’s public plans run from $500/month (Growth) to $2,850/month (Enterprise+). Developer custom blocks need Enterprise+.
- The real differences between alternatives are how they charge (flat fee, a share of in-app sales, or active users), who builds the app, and whether it can turn ad clicks into app sessions with App Clips.
- Reactiv builds Apple App Clips and the full app on one platform, so an ad click can open a native shopping experience with no download.
- The lowest entry prices belong to Shopney ($149/month), Superfans ($150/month Starter on its Shopify listing) and AppBrew ($199/month).
- Every price was checked on the vendor’s website and Shopify App Store listing in October 2026.
Tapcart is the best-known mobile app builder for Shopify, and for many brands it’s where the app starts. Brands start looking elsewhere for a few reasons: the price of the upper tiers, a block library that limits what the app can do, or a growth plan that needs the app to win new customers, not just serve existing ones.
This guide compares 8 Tapcart alternatives on what actually separates them: how they charge, who builds the app, how native it is, whether you can see what the app sells, and whether it can turn ad traffic into app sessions with App Clips. Every price and claim was checked on the vendor’s own website and Shopify App Store listing in October 2026, and each one is linked so you can check it yourself.
A note on bias: we make Reactiv, and it’s first on this list. We’ve described every other platform the way its own team does, including where it’s the better fit.
Tapcart in 2026: the baseline
Tapcart sells three public plans: Growth at $500/month, Scale at $1,250/month and Enterprise+ at $2,850/month, plus an optional AI add-on at $250/month (Tapcart pricing). Apple and Google developer accounts are extra.
The core product is App Studio, a drag-and-drop editor that marketers run day to day. Developers can build custom blocks in React with the Tapcart CLI, but only on the Enterprise plan (Tapcart help center). Tapcart has 4.7 stars from 339 reviews and a 7-day trial on the Shopify App Store (listing). It doesn’t list App Clips.
Tapcart is a solid choice for brands that want a marketer-run app from a block library. The alternatives below make sense when you need something it doesn’t do on the plan you’re on.
What to look for in a Tapcart alternative
Most Shopify app platforms look alike on a feature grid. These seven questions are where they actually differ.
How does it charge?
Platforms charge in three ways: a flat monthly fee, a share of in-app sales, or a price tied to monthly active users. A percentage looks cheap at launch and grows with the app. A flat fee costs more on day one and stays predictable. Work out the total at the sales volume you expect in year two, not month one.
Who builds the app?
Self-serve builders hand you an editor. Managed platforms build the app for you. Some do both. If no one on your team has time to run an app, a managed build is usually worth more than a lower subscription.
How native is it?
“Native” covers a lot of ground. Some platforms render every screen natively. Others put your website inside a native frame. Ask how product pages, cart and checkout are rendered, because that is where speed shows up in conversion.
Will you be able to see what the app sells?
Shopify credits every order to a sales channel: Online Store, Point of Sale, Shop and so on. An app that is its own sales channel gets its own line in Shopify Analytics, so app revenue, orders, conversion rate and average order value sit next to your website’s, not inside them.
An app that mirrors your website works differently. The shopper is using your online store inside an app frame, so their orders are credited to Online Store, mixed in with mobile web. That has two costs. You can’t easily answer “what did the app sell last month?”, which makes the app hard to defend at budget time. And your website numbers get muddier too, because your most loyal, highest-converting customers are now counted as mobile web shoppers.
Tags and separate dashboards can patch this, but they sit outside the reports your finance and growth teams already use. Ask every platform: will app orders show up as their own sales channel in Shopify, with nothing to set up?
Can it win new customers, or only serve existing ones?
An app usually serves customers who already know you. App Clips change that: an App Clip opens a native shopping experience from an ad, QR code or link, with no download. Apple requires every App Clip to belong to a full app (Apple developer docs), so the Clip and the app have to come from the same platform. App Clips are iPhone-only. Android’s closest equivalent, Google Play Instant, shut down in December 2025 (Android Developers). If App Clips are new to you, start with what an App Clip is.
Can your developers extend it?
Custom code access is often reserved for the top plan. If you have developers, or plan to, check which plan unlocks it and what it costs.
What happens to your App Store listing when you switch?
Your listing, reviews and installed base are hard-won. The best platforms ship your new app as an update to the same listing, so nothing resets. Ask before you sign.

The 8 best Tapcart alternatives for Shopify
1. Reactiv
Reactiv builds native iOS and Android apps and Apple App Clips on one platform, for Shopify brands that want the app to win new customers as well as keep existing ones.
With a Reactiv Clip, a shopper taps your ad, QR code or link and a native storefront opens in seconds, with no download: browsing, product pages, cart, Apple Pay checkout and push re-engagement. On ad traffic, Reactiv customers see 3x higher conversion when the click opens an App Clip instead of a mobile web page. On average, 15% of Clip users go on to install the full app, and Top of the Mornin’ Coffee reaches 35%.
You don’t start from a blank page. Reactiv’s design team builds your first version from native components matched to your brand. Your team then adds screens with drag-and-drop, and developers can go further with the SDK.
- Pricing: the Scaling Brands plan starts at $1,500/month, includes App Clips, and has no success fees (pricing).
- Switching: handled by Reactiv, live in 2 to 4 weeks. Your App Store listing, reviews and installed base move with you.
- Reporting: the app is its own sales channel in Shopify, so app orders and revenue are reported separately from your website, in the same Shopify reports you already use.
- Strengths: App Clips and the full app on one platform; deep two-way integrations with subscriptions, loyalty, search and reviews; the team that builds your app stays on it after launch.
- Limitations: priced for brands investing in the app as a channel, so the entry plan sits well above self-serve builders. App Clips are iPhone-only, and Android shoppers get a fast fallback.
- Best for: brands that run paid traffic to mobile and treat the app as a growth channel.

2. Fuego
Fuego builds native apps for larger Shopify brands. Its site says it’s “Designed for Shopify Plus and Enterprise brands.” It pairs a no-code builder and an AI agent called Apa with a migration team that rebuilds your current app (fuego.io).
- Pricing: Starter at $1,499/month and Enterprise at a custom price, with no transaction fees and no annual contracts (fuego.io). Fuego raised Starter from $999 in October 2026, and its Shopify listing now shows the same price, with 10% off for paying yearly (listing).
- Strengths: a flat fee with no transaction fees. Fuego runs the migration and offers to buy out your current platform contract (Fuego migration).
- Limitations: Enterprise pricing isn’t published, and with 19 reviews on the Shopify App Store (4.8 stars), there’s less third-party evidence than for older platforms.
- Best for: Shopify Plus brands that want a managed native app at a flat fee.
3. AppBrew
AppBrew is a self-serve builder with a low entry price and an AI assistant, Milo, that helps marketers run the app.
- Pricing: Starter at $199/month, Pro at $599/month and Enterprise at a custom price, with a 30-day free trial (AppBrew pricing). Its Shopify listing says Starter and Pro carry “additional charges based on app performance” and shows Enterprise at $1,099/month (listing).
- Strengths: the lowest self-serve entry among established builders, unlimited push on every plan, and 5.0 stars from 76 reviews. AppBrew says it’s built on React Native.
- Limitations: performance-based charges on the two lower plans. Code access and custom app design are Enterprise-only.
- Best for: brands that want to launch quickly on a small budget and run the app in-house.
4. Superfans (formerly Vajro)
Vajro is now Superfans, and its pitch has moved toward community: a social feed, live selling and push notifications (Superfans pricing).
- Pricing: the website shows one plan, Unlimited, at $1,000/month with “no contract lock-ins and no success fee.” The Shopify listing also shows a $150/month Starter plan and a 30-day trial (listing).
- Strengths: the largest review base in this guide, 4.9 stars from 906 reviews, with community and live-selling features built in.
- Limitations: the entry price depends on where you look, the community feed is labelled beta, and enterprise pricing isn’t listed.
- Best for: brands building a community or live-shopping program around the app.
5. Venn Apps
Venn Apps sells a fully managed app build with a dedicated designer, aimed at fashion, cosmetics and jewellery brands (Venn pricing).
- Pricing: Pro from $1,999/month. Enterprise is by quote on the website and $2,999/month on the Shopify listing, which also shows a 30-day trial (listing).
- Strengths: a dedicated designer and account manager, with Shopify POS and Klaviyo integrations.
- Limitations: the highest entry price in this guide, and fees beyond the subscription aren’t disclosed.
- Best for: established fashion and beauty brands that want a hands-off build.
6. Shopney
Shopney is a self-serve builder built around speed and transparent tiers. Its site says “most stores go live in under 5 days” (Shopney).
- Pricing: Silver at $149, Gold at $299, Platinum at $599 and Enterprise from $1,299/month, with lower annual rates, no commissions and a 30-day trial.
- Strengths: 5.0 stars from 770 reviews, no commissions and a fast launch (listing).
- Limitations: segmented and AI push, and the Klaviyo, loyalty, subscription and Rebuy integrations, start at Platinum ($599/month).
- Best for: smaller brands that want a polished app quickly and can run it themselves.
7. MobiLoud
MobiLoud takes a different approach: it turns your existing website into an iOS and Android app. Its native layer is built in Swift and Kotlin and, in MobiLoud’s words, is “a sophisticated frame that holds your website content” (MobiLoud docs).
- Pricing: Growth at $799/month ($679 billed annually) for up to 5,000 monthly active users, Business at $1,499/month, and Enterprise at a custom price. “There is no revenue share on any plan” (MobiLoud pricing).
- Strengths: fully managed and live in 2 to 4 weeks, and it works on Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. What you change on the site shows in the app.
- Limitations: the app mirrors your website by design, so it isn’t the route to an app experience that differs from your site. Because shoppers are using your site inside the app, app orders aren’t a separate sales channel; MobiLoud’s companion Shopify app exists partly to “tag app orders” so you can find them (listing). Pricing scales with active users, and the builder itself has no Shopify App Store listing.
- Best for: brands on several commerce platforms, or brands that want their website in the App Store with little new work.
8. AppMaker
AppMaker, now part of StarApps, pairs a drag-and-drop Studio with full developer access on its top plan (AppMaker pricing).
- Pricing: Growth at $999/month plus 0.5% of in-app sales, and Enterprise from $2,000/month plus 0.3%, on its website. The Shopify listing shows $1,000 and $2,000 plans at 1% of in-app sales, with a 14-day trial (listing). One-time development fees can apply.
- Strengths: code blocks, plus “Full Developer Access” on Enterprise, the clearest developer-access story after Tapcart Enterprise+.
- Limitations: a share of in-app sales on every plan, and the website and listing disagree on the rate. It has 4.4 stars from 31 reviews.
- Best for: brands with developers who want to extend a builder.
Or build it yourself
A custom React Native or Flutter app gives you total control, and Shopify’s Checkout Kit lets developers embed Shopify checkout in iOS, Android and React Native apps (Shopify). The trade-off is ownership: releases, App Store reviews, OS updates and every integration are now yours to maintain. As Hobbiesville’s co-founder Edmond Georges put it, “If you go custom, you’re not just launching an app. You’re running a tech company.” (Hobbiesville story)
A custom app can still have App Clips. Reactiv can attach a Clip to a custom-built app, and later bring the app onto the platform if you’d rather not maintain it.
How to choose
Start from your constraint, not the feature list.
- If budget is the constraint: Shopney and AppBrew get you live for under $200/month. Read the fee line: AppBrew’s Starter and Pro plans carry performance-based charges.
- If you want it done for you: Reactiv, Fuego, Venn Apps and MobiLoud all build the app for you. Compare what happens after launch: who iterates on the app, and which features your plan includes.
- If paid traffic drives your growth: look at App Clips, which open a native experience straight from an ad with no download. Reactiv builds App Clips and the full app on one platform. Ask any other platform whether App Clips are included, and on which plan.
- If you have developers: Tapcart Enterprise+, AppMaker Enterprise and Reactiv’s SDK give code-level access. AppBrew offers code access on Enterprise.
- If you’ll need to prove the app’s return: make sure app orders land in their own Shopify sales channel, not inside Online Store. Website-mirroring apps, MobiLoud included, don’t separate them by default.
- If you sell on more than Shopify: MobiLoud supports several commerce platforms.
Should you stay on Tapcart?
Stay if your team likes running the app from a block library, the plan you’re on covers what you need, and the app’s job is serving existing customers.
Look around if you’re paying for Enterprise+ mainly to get developer access, if the integrations you rely on behave differently in the app than on your site, or if you want the app to convert ad traffic as well as keep customers.
Switching from Tapcart
Moving platforms doesn’t mean starting over in the App Store. With Reactiv, your App Store and Google Play listings, reviews and installed base move with you, and your current app stays live until the new one is ready, so there’s no gap. Most brands launch in 2 to 4 weeks, with Reactiv running the migration.

Frequently asked questions
Is Tapcart still a good option in 2026?
Yes, for brands that want a self-serve app their marketers run from a block library. It has the longest track record in this guide and 339 Shopify reviews. Brands tend to move when they need developer access below the $2,850/month Enterprise+ plan, deeper integrations, or App Clips.
What’s the cheapest Tapcart alternative?
By sticker price, Shopney’s $149/month Silver plan, the $150/month Starter plan on Superfans’ Shopify listing, and AppBrew at $199/month. Check the total cost at your expected sales: performance-based charges or a share of in-app sales can overtake a flat fee as the app grows.
Do Tapcart alternatives support Apple App Clips?
Reactiv builds App Clips alongside your app and includes them from its Scaling Brands plan ($1,500/month). Tapcart doesn’t list App Clips. If they matter to you, ask any other platform whether it offers them and on which plan. Because Apple requires every App Clip to belong to a full app, the Clip and the app need to come from the same platform.
How do I see my app’s sales separately from my website in Shopify?
Check Shopify Analytics by sales channel. If your app is its own sales channel, its orders and revenue appear on their own line. If the app mirrors your website, its orders are credited to Online Store alongside mobile web, and you’ll need order tags or the vendor’s own dashboard to separate them. Ask before you sign which one you’ll get.
Can I use App Clips without a full app?
No. Apple requires every App Clip to have a corresponding full app in the App Store. The Clip converts the first visit; the full app is where that customer comes back.
Will I lose my App Store reviews if I switch?
Not if the new platform ships your app as an update to your existing listing. Reactiv does this, so your listing, reviews and installed base stay, and Fuego describes its migrations the same way. Ask any platform to confirm it in writing before you sign.
