Michael Svendsen is a Senior Developer on the Data & AI team at Reactiv, with 15 years of experience spanning global marketing and data engineering. His path into data is an unusual one: he spent the first part of his career in marketing leadership before pivoting into data and AI, and he brings that product-and-user sensibility to the way he builds systems. As Global Marketing Director, Michael led the development of an image-based search system that helped customers find the right tattoo artist for their style. A marketing problem solved with a data-and-computer-vision approach, and an early sign of the direction his career would take. At Reactiv, he's a core contributor to ETL, the data pipeline work that's the subject of this post. He holds a Certificate in Data Science from Johns Hopkins University.
